The People's Forum: If people find meaning or comfort in religion, if it gives their life a sense of purpose

and inspires them to be a better human being then that's got to be a good thing. It's only when it is used to stoke division and violence that I have a problem with it. And that's not unique to religion. If it somehow disappeared as a concept overnight, hatemongering psychopaths who work their way into positions of power and influence in all walks of life would easily come up with another justification to treat other people appallingly.
