As far as I know, this was always the rule. It's the same for a goal (Geoff Hurst?). nt.
When I played football the ball had to touch the line so if taking a corner it would basically be sitting Ďoní the middle of the line because thatís where it touched; otherwise everyone would be in uproar. Every one of todays corners would need to be retaken.
Likewise for goals on tv it would be can you see a hint of grass itís in.
So has it been since goal line technology came in and what do he laws actually say about sidelines and goal lines.

In a grassroots game I'm getting slaughtered if i dont give that as OUT of play "the ball was overhanging lads"
