We need to see about 6 still frames showing before and after contact was made, in order to see the exact position of the ball when it changed direction.
Unfortunately we will probably never see such evidence, but I will always be aware that those in charge of the game are only interested in selling the product in terms of a world wide audience.
The decision to increase the number of teams playing in the finals is one thing, but if VAR and its paymasters are using their new power to over rule referees and control outcomes ... then its panto time and he game is turning into a sideshow.
As a result of that decision, the whole of Japan will be tuning in to see games and a generation of 7/8 year old will be hooked... not a bad result if you are looking to promote the game (Germany will always regroup and its audience is guaranteed through years of participation).
Very cynical ..... of course, but its looking more and more as though dodgy decisions are being made off the pitch and rules are being changed all the time.
