See Bernie Madoff, Sam Bankman-Fried, Elizabeth Holmes, Anna Sorokin, Donald Trump, and so on.
I very much hope Lampard can match his articulate account of what he's going for with the team's actions on the pitch. I get that the resources he has are not ideal, and that these things take time. But for me the rhetoric isn't all that compelling, and the jury is very much still out. Previous Message
...Ill find it so hard to watch when the fans start to split and we get the cries of, 'fraud', whatever the #### that means. Previous Message
...try to ignore the fact that it's clearly a vehicle for our "commercial partners" to try to plug their watches (once they start talking about them at the end you can close it and miss nothing!) but there is still some good stuff in there from Lampard - if his teams could play football as well as he could speak about things then we'd be challenging at the top!
We're clearly still a long way from where we need to be on the pitch, and I know a few are starting to lose their patience with him, but I think he has genuinely bought right into us and I can't remember liking an Everton manager and wanting him to succeed (for HIM, not just because it's my club) this much for a long time.
Fingers crossed he can survive and thrive.
