If your question merely refers to 'this moment in time' then of course Mbappe much younger and still on the rise than the older and fading Messi is better, but he has a long long way to go to be considered even in the argument for best player of all time which is what I believe Messi to be.

Think there's a case on current evidence, when you take into account their contributions in major international tournaments. The decisive factor again in this game.
No doubt Messi has achieved more overall, but I think it's quite possible KM will eclipse him in time.
