...then my faith in the both is shaken.
We'll see what happens by 1st September, but in an attacking sense this will have been a terrible window if we've seen Richarlison and Gordon depart and replaced by McNeil and anyone like Adams.
I trust Thelwell & Frank to identify the deficiencies.
Iím then Ďhopefulí FM can deliver the £ and Bill can negotiate the deals within our FFP constraints.
Outside of the board, Thelwell & Frank nobody knows what is being planned in regards outgoings & incomings.
FM & Frank have both intimated there is lot going on in the background & we will be stronger come the end of the window, judge them then etc
Itís not easy shifting players on huge contracts & itís even harder selling Everton as a progressive club to hungry talent unless we pay bigger wages than our immediate competitors.
As the window nears itís end players become available, I think Conor Gallagher might be one, MGW at Wolves another.
Strikers are a notoriously difficult market. Iím not convinced on Che Adams, the Guirassy lad looks interesting & I really hope thereís genuine interest in Terrier at Rennes.
Sarr from Watford for sub-£20m would be a risk worth taking.
On Gordon: if we can eek £50m out of Chelsea Iím afraid to say itís probably decent business, given our FFP position.
Lampard & Thelwell know whatís needed, theyíve proved it at CB with JT & CC coming in.
Patience isnít a thing in football but for once I genuinely believe these guys know whatís needed.
