But the two positions that we needed to sort before the window opened was a number 6 and a striker. We still havenít addressed that yet. We may well do, but weíre already two games into the season.
So far weíve signed a solid defender in Tarks. A CB that can only play in a 3 and whose main attributes are hitting diagonals to the wing backs and shouting. A back up left back, which was needed. A winger with decent underlying numbers, but very little attacking output, whose main attribute is just swinging crosses in to a striker we donít have. And a decent outlay on a kid with potential.
These may all become major successes for us. But I donít see how the current system allows the likes of McNeil to flourish. Or provide a platform for Onana to develop.
But the window hasnít closed yet and things can change quickly.
