....we'll be quoted well over that for any quality striker that would be interested in joining us.
This is stupid. We have a young blue who has the world at his feet and our manager rates him massively. He is clearly a smart lad who comes across way better than Rooney or Barkley did at a young age.
Then again, if we can't afford a striker without selling him I guess we have no choice. But that would be a shameful position to have ended up in 2 weeks before the end of the window.
Whilst I would bite the hands of either club at 50m there are some concerns ...
We can't just sell off our forward line without replacing them and its obvious we need strikers ... Richie going is one thing, letting Gordon go now with DCL out for 6 weeks leaves us threadbare up front.
Surely we can't be doing this in our current situation unless there is a master plan we don't know about and the money is needed to unlock the door?
I like Gordon but he flatters to deceive far more than he produces real quality and his final ball is poor. If, and its a big IF, we have others lined up who are proven and ambitious I would understand it.
To leave us right now with a CF made of glass and one who is useless whilst removing 2 top forwards, at a time when we badly need a win, or even a goal, is crackers.
I will totally give up if he goes and we bring in more midfielders.
I am sincerely hoping Frank has a cunning plan and we are in a brighter place imminently but we are Everton aren't we and literally anything can happen
We've apparently knocked back a bid of £35M from Newcastle, and today a £40M bid from Chelsea. Club are valuing him at £50M.
