We went to the Lofoten islands to see the Northern Lights a couple of years ago & travelled up & down the whole archipelago.
Wonderful place, stunning scenery & wildlife, but limited accommodation. You will also need your biggest wallet I’m afraid….but I’d go again in a heartbeat Previous Message
In 1974 as a 17 year old, me & a couple of mates bought Interrail tickets and travelled around western Europe by train for a month.
This year is the 50th anniversary of Interrail & to mark this they had a 50% sale. I've recently retired, & have treated myself to a 2 month ticket that gives me unlimited travel on European trains. I intend to travel either this autumn or next spring.
I'm thinking of heading to northern Norway & Sweden, then Finland, the Baltic states & Eastern Europe.
Does anyone have any advice on northern Scandanavia, places to see, travel (especially trains) etc. Also, same re the Baltic countries?
Thanks a million
