…we were indeed ####ed by the time Benitez left.
If nothing else, Lampard has united the squad and fans and got them playing for their survival and tactically producing let’s face it some brilliant results (Chelsea, Man U, Leicester away).
That’s a good enough for me for his first 5 months. Previous Message
was a miracle in itself. We were a busted flush under the FSW who operated a devide and conquer routine that failed miserably.... the team was a split camp and about to implode.
If you look at the coaches Lampard has brought in, they are a mix of young and old with experience and winning mentality.
They also have a huge advantage in they were not in debt to our Chairman for the job ! I think it was a well thought out move to bring in a large independend backroom staff that would help him deal with any behind the scenes shitstirring from sitting tennants.
Lampard is young and hungry for success, he has already won most over with his enthusiasm and energetic approach (compared to the last incumbemt who resembled a disgruntled burnt out school teacher). I expect we will see some young players arriving as the squad changes in the next year, success will not come easy but its not impossible if he can maintain team spirit as it changes.
