what a night!
scouring the interwebs today it appears our 'loveable' neighbours are somewhat irked.
Key issues
- pitch invasions- we should be docked points
- celebrating survival- small time
- our fans behaviour- terrible
all from the club whose
manager legs it onto the pitch with his shit eating grin and turkey teeth
the club who apparently had a coffin made up for us for this season (tastefully done eh)
from the club who shamed the football world at Heysel and are according to UEFA the worst behaved fans in Europe.
Meanwhile they are having their 'celebration' parade on the same day as the Heysel atrocity they and their lot were responsible for.
while in a hostelry on Sunday when we got beat there were a number of sneering kopites. one said to me 'how does it feel to be a blue' - my response was I am proud to support the original football team in our city, the first team to win the league at Anfield.
he had no idea we had won the league first at theirs.
I saw said person last night and he had a good laugh as we were 2 down. no class at all. however watching him scurry out when our third was in was genuinely funny.
I've always said it Liverpool supporters are terrible when losing but even worse when winning.
What this season has done i believe has reinvigorated our fan base- we sometimes like to think we are a bit too cool to care but in reality this all matters loads to all of us.
For me in Frank we trust. The cancer in the club for me has been our willingness to give managers no time then move onto the next project. I am excited to see what we do over the summer. We've got 10 points out of the last 15 which would suggest that as a team things are starting to bind together.
I don't believe we will see a mass exodus of talent- but a definite trimming of the squad. Either way instead of being Ron Manager I will just let Frank do his thing and get behind the team next year.
I've really enjoyed the pre match stuff of late and hope it continues next year and a new generation grow up with us being seen as galatasaray type loons with a home atmosphere that makes it a nightmare for any team.
As we say 'we're everton aren't we'!
I hope Arby wherever he may be got to share last night. Cracking lad who had his share of tough times and I for one am so very sad that he has passed away. We used to email a bit and he was a lovely fella.
UTFT!!!
