Checked my phone 10 minutes later, almost expecting to see that it had finished 3-3. What a relief.
Watching this morning, it really was goosebumps and hair standing on end. Loved Lampard's post-match interview, he really does seem like a genuine and humble bloke. Would have been easy for him to make excuses and start blaming the players when things were going badly to try and preserve his own managerial reputation, but he has stayed dignified and calm throughout. Let's see what he can do in the summer and into next season, he seems under no illusions about the size of the task but would appear to relish the challenge. The whole club came together when it mattered and he obviously feels part of that. Previous Message
Wow. I know it's avoiding relegation, and not winning a trophy, but wow.
I didn't see the game, as I had a prior commitment, but I followed as much as I could on score updates, and on here. Was home for the last 10 mins, but didn't want to turn it on and jinx it, so sat in the dark with my phone, watching the updates come in.
When it was over, my dad rang, and we were both blubbing. This club means so much to so many genuine fans, and you can see what it means to players and staff, especially Frank, who seems to be blue through and through already.
I just watched the goals again, several times, then found this.
Suffice to say, I'm blubbing again, especially the scenes when Spirit of the Blues comes on.
COYFB!!!!
Going to get on up and fly away
Go on out for another way
And a new day’s dawn
Going to carry on.
