Perhaps this is where we should start with the criticism.
Also he has had vocal support from other Premier League Senegalese team-mates, e.g. Kouyate (Palace) & Sarr (Watford).
So he's not alone and it's not the first time either. He apparently had some sort of stomach bug last year.
I would assume he won't get thrown out of the PSG squad for this but there's a distinct possibility he would have faced expulsion from the Senegalese national team had he worn the shirt.
Their PM sounds like someone who likes to create a certain amount of religious fervor to bolster his own standing.
Either way, I don't like what he's done and I don't agree with what he's done. IMO, it's a bit of a cowardly act too, as he won't actually say why he's doing what he's doing.
