Pulling on somebody's shirt
is a foul all day long. In the box it's a penalty. It's not difficult. It's the easiest penalty to give in football. How was it missed? Incredible.
The most telling thing about that incident was that Michael Oliver was very close to it and indeed looking directly at it. An unobstructed view. He clearly felt that that level of blatant shirt pulling was a "nothing to see here" moment.
he dragged the shirt off Richie, is that one of the things VAR can look at? You can't accidently grab somebody's shirt. It's a penalty all day long. Easier to give those than a trip or hand ball which are subjective.
Think the issue was more that had VAR checked the penalty claim seconds before the situation wouldn't have arisen
What an atmosphere to start. We bossed it and I genuinely thought we’d do them 2 or 3 nil.
The sending off was probably the most massive footballing deflation I’ve experienced following Everton.
The fans did try, but you could see the ‘This is ###in typical of Everton!!’ expressions, especially on older Blues fans’ faces.
Once they equalized, we felt it was just a matter of time before they went in front.
They were patient, organised and Eriksen ran the show.
We left very concerned about Thursday. Palace, though below Brentford but with a game in hand, are probably a more dangerous side; nobody wants it to be the Arsenal game that decides it.
Again though - the old ‘league table doesn’t lie’ applies.
If we go down we deserve it. There were quite a few voices slagging the ref off for the first sending off.
We all said straight away it was a clear red. I couldn’t see the Rondon incident, as everyone in Lower Bullens was on their feet and it was out of our view. My son who was in a better position said it appeared to be a another ‘has to go’ for the ref.
Haven’t seen any replays or heard what Frank has said.
We could be ruing that draw against a woeful Watford (or for that matter any number of shoite displays against the ‘lower’ sides this season).
It is still though very much in our own hands.
Will be there on Thursday hoping for a better day’s work.
