A shift to deeper defending, you say? I'm in favour. nt
It will be harder and riskier for them to try and play someone marginally offside, so if they are hanging back slightly it could result in a deeper defensive line, and more space in front of the defence…
from the front to the back of the player, there is still a line on a screen and a whisker over it the goal is disallowed.
If the whole of the ball must cross the line to be a goal, or out of play, so the whole of the attacking player should be past the last defender for it to be offside. Clear daylight between them. Draw the lines that way, make the game more favourable to attacking teams.
but I cant see anything to improve it for offside, as soon as you have the technology you need a line and a cm over that line has to be offside. It really has changed the way goals are celebrated as people warned it would.
basically means you have to have the opposition back line in front of you to score.
Ridiculous. Needs sorting out.
