Plus, it seems George Harrison has emerged as a major source of grumbling. I thought it would be John Lennon.
Great stuff! I agree.
If you've ever been in a band and been one of the main (or only) song writers, you know what it's like when you have an idea, or someone else has an idea in a jamming situation and how it evolves. Or when you bring an idea to the group, it's really a hard negotiation sometimes and you see how others react and show their enthusiasm or not. You feel quite exposed.
This film, split into 3 episodes, is a complete gift - a time/event you thought was gone but it's all there in 8 hours, well filmed and utterly watchable. You are transported back to the Beatles jamming out ideas for their last album and you see all the nuances, all the conversations, all the ego battles, all the struggles to sell ideas and you see how their minds work together or individually. You see the birth of some classic songs right there. It's completely fascinating, don't think I will ever want to stop watching it.
Ok a glowing review but I am so surprised this exists, as I said, a complete gift.
