I was on getting extra tickets to bring my nephew to the Brighton game. Sold out in 16 minutes.
Thereís something wrong with us.
I feel sad.
Been trying to put words to how I feel about current affairs and the state of the club we all love and support, and for me itís boiled down to this. Sad.
A club thatís been doing so much right in the community just canít seem to do what itís supposed to do. Football.
We all have our opinion on whoís to blame, and why. This is my take. Some might agree, some might call me an idiot. Fair enough. It is what it is.
Just like most other fans I was SO happy when Moshiri bought the club. FINALLY we had some money! I held no illusions about us buying the title, or even get into top 4 in the forseeable future, but finally we could compete! Thatís all I asked. Wanted. Hoped for.
We didnít really get anything like that.. did we?
Weíve done some things right, let me start there. (Mostly because itís a short list.)
*Appointing Marcel. I think thatís a good move, and he was highly rated before signing for us. In that line of work I think that means something. I think with the right backing, and within the righ organisation heíd be boss. But for us currently heís just a waste of space.
*BMD of course! Nothing else needs saying here.
*The money giving us hope. (False hope though, but still.)
Now, the ugly.
*Moshiri. The curse disguised as a blessing.
*Not letting Marcel do what heís supposed to do.
*Seemingly appointing managers, not by who would suit us, but by name. Yes itís his club, his money, I get that.. but still. Koeman, Allardyce, Benitez. Jesus wept! WE ALL (well, most of us) knew beforehand that theyíd be disaster after disaster. (Ancelotti was a weird one.) Why? Because we are fans and WE KNOW FOOTBALL! Thatís why weíre here!
*Expensive flop after expensive flop. I canít for the life of me think that this is Marcels fault.. but if it is, then get out now.
*Tactics, plan B, subs, playing youngsters etc. Not impressed by any of this. Before the game yesterday I posted here about playing the youngsters instead of the non-producing senior players. I accept that we see things differently here. Yes, they might not all be ready or good enough for the PL, but as was evident yesterday once more, neither are our senior players! -maybe it would be good to show everyone that noone is safe, that every position is up for grabs?! Why can other clubs play youngsters but not Everton FC?
If youíve made it this far.. then thank you for taking the time to read this. I could go on and on, but what would be the point really?
One final thing. Potter in! (But why would he even consider coming here at this point?)
