...the other week I was feeling the usual waves of sympathy for fans who's clubs futures are in doubt. How terrible would it be to have your club ripped away due to the greed or incompetence of its owners, what emptiness they would feel on matchdays. I imagined us in that situation, how would we cope without Everton? Would there be a myriad of fans reunions in Liverpool and all over the world, marking significant anniversaries, revelling in the nostalgia of the glory days? Books, videos and websites would abound, focusing on the impact Everton had across the generations, concentrating on memories of glories past. Over time the many years of misery would be forgotten in favour of a focus on happier times. Fans forums would be wonderful places wallowing in nostalgia rather than fostering cynicism and negativity.
In short, I think it might be best all round if we went bust!
