Re: Disagree back at you
I agree that there were moments when Allan was caught out, but on balance I think he did a hell of a lot of good donkey work out there today, and also managed to get some attacks going by way of simple but well executed forward passes, whilst Davies strolled about next to him, getting disposessed and leaving us prone to wave after wave of counter attacks.
I thought Allan was like he has been consistently. Dives in, get the runaround, canít turn and then his head dropped.
Agree on Davies and having to play a midfield three, but not on Allan.
Disagree on the midifield.
Allan was decent for most of the game. I think the fact that he had to do the work of two players out there meant there was more chance of him misplacing the odd pass etc. which is what happened on a few occasions.
Davies, goal-aside (I didn't see it, my stream was buffering), was exactly what he always is, a powder puff one-paced player who absolutely never dominates a game of football and constantly gets closed down and caught out.
I can't see any option but to start playing three in the middle from here on in. And that involves us chancing our arm on Gbamin, or Gomes if he's back.
The only outfield player (apart from Richarlison)who looked like he could actually kick the ball without looking like they had toblerones for boots was Gordon and he was taken off despite Rondon still being on the pitch!
Defenders couldnít head the ball or clear it either to row Z or another Everton player. Midfielders were just lightweight and chasing shadows.
And the manager stank the place out with his subs
