Strangely enough that is pretty much the exact opposite as a truck driving friend told me....
...he actually voted for Brexit PURELY based on his own situation - which was that we were "over-run with EU drivers" who would "flaunt the rules for rest periods" by simply driving back to France for a short time then coming back over here which made them much more available than their UK counterparts and they would work for less money (all of this is what HE told me - no idea if that's the reality of the situation or not)
For the record, he is also one of only two poeople who admitted to voting Leave and were prepared to explain their reasoning to me (in 3/4 years of me politely asking people).
HIS reason was - by his own admission - 100% selfish and the other person had told us that they voted Leave as they "thought it was worth a protest voice to provoke a conversation" - they regretted their vote and said they would have never voted Leave if they would have thought that would be the outcome as it's absolutely suicidal for the country - as it is of course proving to be.
I'd rather die with our history than live with theirs...
