but JSW was later and there were years of brilliant games before that (I was living in England/Cornwall at the time and wasn't happy there so spent my life on the speccy) from '83 - top of my head:
- the Ultimate Play the Game titles - Atic Atac etc
- Chuckie Egg
- The Way of the exploding fist
- Monty Mole
- Melbourne House titles
- The Hobbit
Had way too many games. I remember doing 'tape-to-tape' to pirate titles using 2 recorders and hopefully seeing the colour bands at the side of the screen and the loading noises when loading the game.
The British made games were especially good but then you had the ports from the C64 titles which opened up a lot more but these games were miles better on the C64, which was a much better machine.
But if you were to play those games now they would not be enjoyable, very simple and playing games for nostalgic reasons (more than 15 years old, example given as I still like Wow but don't play) never delivers.
Elite was good, but better on BBC/Commodore platform
