definitely could be...
but its a risky spend of 35 million or something!
Could very easily be a case of putting McNeill in with better players and watch him flourish though.
It can't be easy being the main flair player in that Burnley team. That said, they've played better than ever I expected against us at Goodison over the last two seasons.
I was really surprised by how quick he was last night. To add to what you've said, he picked the ball up in positions all over the front and did not just hug the sideline.
I can see why people rate him. I'm not against him but his production does not match the eye test. Townsend is the opposite in a lot of ways. Much maligned, seen as past his best but his production puts many others to shame. Having said that, Townsend's best attribute is his attitude. Top notch and one of the first names on the team sheet at the moment.
Not really paid much attention to him historically, but did last night for obvious reasons.
There's a lovely player in there. Great touch, not slow, carries the ball well, a little swagger, nice control and passing, tracks back well and clearly can shoot if last season's strike vs us was anything to go by.
A lot of Evertonians were dismissing him in the early summer as being uninspiring when compared with more exotic players that we were linked with, but I think he'd be a very shrewd signing at the right price (once the purse strings are loosened again)!
Not sure how long is left on his contract, but would like to think we'd be back in for him again in the not too distant future.
