completely agree on assassin's creed - stopped playing after the 3rd because it was basically the same side quests in a new location and it was a grind rather than being fun. mind you, there's some briliant games out there - control, prey, and dishonoured all spring to mind, alongside the incredibly short-and-sweet untitled goose game.
the thing for me is that when games drag out into 40, 50, 60 hours then it's basically running the same idea into the ground. movies these days are the same - gone are the tight 90-100 minute movies that i grew up watching.
it's a real shame, because there's a ton of great entertainment out there that i just look at and think 'ugh, no, i don't have the time for that'.
