Went in the 'Enclosure' as it was known then - Goodison Road terraces, I was 10 and had trouble seeing over the heads of the blokes in front, but I was still buzzing. Being boxing day, it was a cold and wet miserable day, but the pitch just looked magical, and seeing the players close up for the first time felt surreal.
Typical Everton, we started well, led at half time, but B'ham equalised in the 2nd half through Latchford.
I went intermittently the following couple of seasons, then full time from 1977 onwards.
