If I had some insider knowledge and wanted 2k on say Potter and I rang up Hills where he was 6/1 - they would let me have £50 on at 6/1 and then they'd slash the price to odds on
On Betfair I can only bet at whatever price someone is willing to offer - there may be £100 available at 6/1, £45 at 5.8/1 etc I could ask for 10k to be matched at another price but another punter would have to lay it
People are wanting to back Benitez at odds on currently on Betfair
He went very short last time on Betfair and so did NES, but that was probably based on press speculation
When someone is backed 2nd time around it usually involves some clever money
So someone correct me if Iím wrong, but you canít put it on unless there is someone on the other side willing to make you any odds & ďmatchĒ the bet at odds they think are more in their favour.
Traditional bookies just make up the odds to suit themselves
which is the only bookmaker site worth following for next manager betting
FFS Everton what have you done
Its actually a poorer appointment than Allardyce.
Why do we keep appointing these dinosaurs because they won something 15 years ago
Should we see what Sir Alex is up to these days as I believe he has a good CV
Goodison will be toxic next season
If we aren't going to win anything then at least I want to be entertained -that's not going to happen
We should be getting linked with the same managers as Spurs. Spurs wouldn't touch Benitez. Are we appointing him cos he lives local ? Seems a bizarre recruitment ploy if it is
Then again some fans want Martinez cos he is a nice man
And others want Ferguson cos he is a passionate blue
How about getting someone who might just be very good at their job, who we know play decent footy
Occasionally you have to take a punt like Spurs did with Pochettino, even like Liverpool did with Rodgers - did they have gliterring trophy filled CVs, no they didn't.
Spurs will appoint Potter and we will look back next season on what we could have won
