Sounds ok in theory but would the identity of the manager/coach not be a factor in a player….

At least for the bigger names it surely would….
... he can take as long as he likes on the manager front. if there's no-one suitable available or interested at the moment, we have unsworth and ferguson who have already acted as caretaker between them (and to be fair, a caretaker term for duncan might almost be an audition for the full-time role in the sense that, if he does well, they might just make it permanent).
the main thing is that we get the necessary transfer window business done (at least a right back and right mid in, preferably someone for the spine of the time as well if we can, and as many outs as we can from the dross we're paying through the nose for) as that's the thing that's been hurting us over the last few years.
i mean, nuno is available and would *do*, but i'd rather we did better than someone who'll merely fill in a gap. if they're not an active improvement on big dunc and unsie, what's the point?
