Had a good start at Ajax, but as with everyone there it's a system he & the players know
as soon as they step out from that bubble only the truly elite seem to make an impact. He's been quite the opposite, until this tournament & even then it's a weak group and they looked alarmingly easy to score against vs a fairly mediocre Ukraine. No chance he's getting our job unless something very weird happens.
Much of that was because Atlanta lost Almiron to EPL, he was their heart and soul. Difficult to say how shite or good FdB was in Atlanta because of that, and because Josez Martinez's incredible scoring spree ensured that they looked always capable to beat anybody, independent what the manager did. When Martinez tore his ACL, Atlanta were completely toothless.
Has Frank de Boer done really well anywhere? Genuine question.
The standout managers of the tournament for me so far have been De Boer, Roberto Mancini and Didier Dechamps. I think Mancini and Dechamps might be out of our range but what about De Boer?
The pros: he plays good football, has experience managing top teams, if we really want Dumfries he would be a help along with a lot of up and coming dutch players and maybe can forge a good partnership with Brands for the future.
The Cons: Crystal Palace. But was he given enough time? And was Palace really a good fit for him. Then again are we?
Worth waiting for?
