No worries, matey! You are of course spot on when you point out the fact that some Evertonians have a certain sense of entitlement when in reality our barren spell in terms of tangible success would suggest that we’re never going to attract ‘complete’ top drawer players. It would be insane to think otherwise. The fact that we got Rodriguez on board, even with Ancelotti as part of the attraction, seemed far too good to be true, and then of course we discover the catch with his fitness issues etc.
Lukaku was excellent for us and easily one of our best players. His goals ensured that we were always competitive. But he wasn’t the finished article despite how many will attempt to re-write history and insist that he was. And equally, those that will tell you that even with his impressive goals tally, we had to get rid because of his poor first touch or lack of tracking back, seem guilty of the same thing.
In my eyes at least.
