Yep, thatís a whole other debate we could spend many months picking over nt
Allegri has turned down pretty all the big jobs across europe these past few years and Conte is a notorious megalomaniac who has just won Serie A, waking out as they wouldnít give him £100m to spend on reinforcements.
These are managers in the true top echelons of the sport and wouldnít even give a second thought to dropping down to a club that last made an impact in Europe in 1985.
You may consider that a defeatist attitude but football has changed significantly this last decade (mostly for the worse) and if youíre not in the CL regularly youíre honestly meaningless to players and managers used to compete at that level.
I'm not saying they're looking to solve the Iwobi problem and desperate to experiment with where Holgate should play.
But Carlo was on top money, people like to work, we're a big club. A more realistic ambition is of course Potter with a Project but if we're not aiming high, why bother?
to me itís like saying we should sign Haaland this summer, so including them as an example of what ambition looks like is completely misleading.
will be a small compensation.
Ambition would have been Allegri or Conte or even, with a coherent project, Potter. Nuno is just off the shelf manager and agent package, like the sort used to manufacture bland Hollywood product these days. It's the very opposite of the club motto.
