In my blinkered romanticism, I foresee a perfect symmetry to our season. Just as we won our first few games of the season, we'll win our final few too (bar City) and waltz into the Europa league.
In reality though, everything rides on a win tonight, Rodriguez being fit for the two home games, and us outscoring Sheff. Utd and Wolves at home to take maximum points from the next three matches.
64 points coming into the Man City game is the best we'll finish on because even if we're playing their reserves, we'll get nothing from a game against a City side that will be looking to put on a show for the fans before lifting the league trophy.
we cant control our finishing position, per se
we have two games in hand over Arsenal
I wouldnt get too down
Liverpool fans I know, are tonight saying - win our 4 remaining games and we'll get champions league
Everton fans, oh no we are 9th
And yet, a win tomorrow for Everton, and a defeat for Liverpool and we'd go above them with 3 games to play
They might be deluded optimists, but we really do like to expect the worst
