Probably this :-( and that is the worst precedent possible for
Any hopes that the accrued advantages/privileges of the scab 6 will be clawed back, or even that their ‘importance’ will be ignored regarding rule infringements. While Sheffield Wednesday are about to be relegated following a points deduction* (for their owner’s crimes.), these 6 will escape because they’re too big.
*Yes, they’re shit and the 6 missing points may not end up enough to save them anyway.
and set a precedent
Clubs can't be allowed to pull bullshit like this.
A fine will do nothing. A suspended sentence is nothing.
They need to lose out on the Champions league for a season. It's what they were willing to give up anyway.
no fines, no suspensions, nothing
at best, they will get a suspended punishment - if you do this again we wont be happy type thing
It will come back within 18 months as Super League 2.0
They'll come back with a suggestion of two leagues
League one is them lot plus 4 (so 16 in total)
League two is another 16 teams, 4 of whom come up and 4 go down
So League one is fairly static, league two is made up of teams who earn it or were relegated
