Correct, the sooner it ends now the easier it
will be to try and brush it under the rug and pretend it never happened.
'Testing a concept' and bollocks like that will start to try and talk it away when everyone knows they were dead serious about it before the public backlash, FIFA and UEFA threatened to turn the screw and the players started voicing discontent.
A price, a very high one has to be paid for their arrogance and bullshit. Make an example of them, show everyone who is in charge.
This is going to get extremely interesting if only a handful of clubs break away. For instance would the EPL or FA contemplate punishing the other four clubs if City and Chelsea do ditch the ESL? It would be easier to impose sanctions if they are not facing a unified front.
