That works well in individual sports like Tennis or golf where the individual gets seeded in big tournaments to ensure they get the benefits of being better over the short span of their playing careers. But in a team sport where the individuals are constantly being replaced as they age,it just created an ever-increasing gap.

In other team sports the best teams get a handicap to level the playing field

...I guess when it comes down to it, supporting a football team is preconditioned on the idea that the rules of the competition are not deliberately stacked against you.

Essentially it would be saying that depending on a teams history up to the point the rule was introduced, the points per win/draw would be worth a different amount.

This is distinct, I think, from being at a financial disadvantage (City, Chelsea, etc).

In the future, an Everton, Leicester or West Ham could finish 4th, but be relegated to the EL because a Liverpool, Chelsea or Man Utd finished 8th but had a better record in the previous 3 CL seasons...... That's ####in scandalous and will happen regularly across Europe's big leagues

Saw on Twitter that it’d be very Everton if:
We finish 4th
Liverpool are lower, but win Champions League
Spurs or Arsenal are lower but win Europa

I’m which case we’d be Europa, not CL.

And unlike last time I doubt UEFA would change the rules to suit us.
