he's not as bad as some folk make out, he can do some things reasonably, and given more freedom or a different role he could thrive, but is he good enough to justify that ? not really

on the flip side, he wouldnt get into any of the other top 7 starting line ups, so he's at best an expensive substitute

he's young ish, at 24, but is he going to improve?
His discipline and tactical awareness etc can improve, but can his end product ? I'm not so sure.

If you could combine him and Bernard into one player, you'd have someone decent.

He's shown flashes, the goal against Wolves (I think) and a few head down performances at full back, but overall. if we want to be building to be regular top 6, he hasnt quite got it.

He wouldnt be first out the door though, but he is in that pack of players like Bernard, Gomes where we just need something a bit better.
