Also remember watching a Goodison derby late 80s from the top balcony where Molby spent most of the game around the centre circle just pinging passes all over the pitch. Was like a metronome, completely dictated the rhythm of play and barely gave the ball away, without doing much running at all.

I don't mean by reputation (there will no doubt be some here who saw Pele, Best, Greaves et al) but what was the best performance you witnessed by an opposing player?
