Re: Tenacity has been taken out of football
To be honest, I doubt him based upon that criteria too. Think he needs to generally show more urgency and energy on the pitch. Far too laid back in his actions sometimes.
certainly not many of them about anymore
its all about pressing - you don't have to tackle you just have to close down and get their face
It might just be the making of him
I'm not convinced he's tenacious enough to be a central midfielder. There's lots to like about him, but I just get the impression that he coasts too much through games.
was really impressed in that game away at United
Can't believe we haven't tried it again
I'm not convinced he's a top defender but he has all the attributes to be either a defensive midfielder or a box to box one
Good engine, reads the game, can tackle, can pass, can head and a bit more pace and energy
Him, Allan and Doucoure, midfield sorted.
Where does that leave him? Captain on Saturday and, imho, too good for the bench. Iíd be surprised if he didnít push for a move if he wasnít a regular starter.
Assuming it's true, seems a steal at $10mill. Also assume he goes straight in with Keane as 1st choice giving us a solid 4 CB's with Gibson/Braithwaite as kids coming through.
Bye bye Yerry.
