what they want to believe and ignore everything else. Read or watch something vaguely plausible on social media from somebody who seems to know what they're talking about and, well, you know the rest.
This Dr. Yeadon may be right, he may be wrong. It's a theory, as you say, which he's perfectly entitled to.
But while I am probably as far away from being a fan of this government as it's possible to get do people seriously expect them to just take the attitude of "well, let's just take a punt on it, might be alright, as you were everyone"?
You don't have to scroll far down the responses on that Twitter thread to start reading things like :
"Sir Keir Starmer is a member of the Tri-Lateral Commission which is driving forward with the New World Order. Sir Keir is working hand-in-glove with Boris and his Government to vaccinate and chip the entire UK population. They can't give up on the pseudo epidemic now."
And therein lies the problem. Previous Message
I worked with Mike Yeadon at Pfizer. He wasn’t in the infectious diseases team with me. To the best of my knowledge he has no background in public health, epidemiology or virology. He isn’t being consulted by SAGE, doesn’t have access to either the data or the expert level discussion to make meaningful comment.
Someone once told him he’s good at spotting inconsistencies in data and know he thinks he knows better than experts in the field. He’s allowed his opinion, he’s a bright enough guy and genuinely a nice bloke. I feel he made some comments early in the epidemic and is trying to pick out trends, probably unintentionally, that back up his opinion because the cognitive dissonance is too great to allow him to do otherwise
On the, this guy knows more than anyone on here; I have a PhD in virology a masters in virology and public health, have worked on viral elimination plans and the people who currently advise the government know way more than me.
I’d recommend watching the BBC documentary Lockdown 1.0

Think what it would have been like for the Italian doctors picking who got any kind of treatment as patients stacked u on trolleys. When we say the NHS is x days from collapsing it’s based on projected case numbers vs available beds. This virus, unchecked, is capable of doubling cases in a couple of days
One of the studies the company I work for contributed medicine to had to exclude data from Italy because the death rate was so high in both arms of the study. The hospitals weren’t coping and patients were dying untreated. Absolutely horrific.
The solutions available to us right now are simple. If you’ve touched anything outside home wash your hands, try to cough into your elbow not your hands, wear a mask, limit contact with people as much as possible and take the vaccine when it’s available to you. This you know already, it’s not some grand conspiracy
Rant over, as you were

New trend of saying hospitals arent full, or are at lower capacity which proves Covid isnt that bad.
People too stupid to see that its because action has been taken, the worst hasnt happened, and the effect has been curtailed.
Trumpers are bad, but the anti-vax, covid denying, G5 conspiracy ####wits are the absolute bottom of the barrel.
Undoubtedly the government has got things wrong, but every country is different in terms of situation, attitude and society. The absolute ####ing morons who want to go round pushing it as some conspiracy, or, not really that bad - #### the lot of them.
