I wouldn’t say either Digne or Luiz’s challenges were reckless but evidently with any aerial challenge there’s always that added risk of serious head injury. Let’s hope Jimenez makes a speedy and full recovery.
On the the topic of player safety, how was Luiz allowed to play on?

when Digne was sent off a few weeks ago it was generally thought to be an accident but we were told there didn't have to be intent as he was endangering the safety of an opponent
The player he fouled was up and running a minute later
Last night Raul gets to the ball 1st and David Luiz clatters into him
Not only is it a late challenge but there has to be the possibility of Raul never playing again
Has David Luiz not endangered the safety of an opponent ? Too bloody right he has
Same when Gary Cahill did it to Ryan Mason - Mason got to the ball 1st and headed it - Cahill mistimed his challenge and headed Mason
Why is it considered any different to a late challenge via a tackle
WHy is it any different to the Pickford challenge for which the media wanted him hung drawn and quartered
I just don't get it
Every one was feeling sorry for Cahill when he did it and I presume everyone will feel sorry for Luiz but his mistimed challenge has caused a serious injury
