I know we are all different
But running on the road was what did for my knee.
Admittedly I’m a “pounder” when I run, but hard surfaces not the best regardless.
Effectively my cartilages just disintegrated over time.
Try running on grass, much easier on the joints
between 6-10km 2 or 3 times a week. I don't really enjoy it but feel better for it afterwards. Especially important while the gym's shut. I did virtually nothing for the first month of lockdown and was pretty horrified at how painful I found a medium pace for any length of time. Getting easier now and the weather being good has made it more bearable.
Felt so lethargic and demotivated at times over the past couple of months, feel I have to push myself to avoid getting stuck in a rut.
...and have got that down to 24m now but I still don't enjoy it.
When I started a few months back I could run for about 30 seconds and ached for days after.
I was never a good runner - built more for eating crisps on the sofa - but loved an early morning run.
Is there a better feeling than the 30 seconds just after you finish. NOPE.
One of my knees is shot now so had to give up a few years ago, miss it badly.
losing just a little more faith every day, and credibility too apparently
