I like Davies and would hope we can develop him but he's a liability in our current team...
..DCL has benefitted from lots of game time the past few seasons, but it's different as a striker as yes it means we've been a bit toothless, but his mistakes don't lead to the opposition scoring.
I like the energy Davies brings to the midfield, but he can look really out of his depth at times.
Richarlison, Gomes, and Gbamin are imminent. That's a far more composed midfield immediately (once they're back up to speed, and assuming the latter two both show no long-term effects). After that, it's all about that right-hand side like you say - replacing Walcott, basically, and deciding between Kenny/Sidibe for the long term.
I would like to see more midfield cover to improve the spine of the team, too - I'm losing patience with Davies' mistakes (get him out on loan for a bit, maybe, or just hope Ancelotti can coach him?) and I'm done with Delph, Schneiderlin and Sigurdsson (the latter more a victim of our playing style rather than his personal effort, in fairness - he slows us up too much and doesn't suit how we're apparently trying to play under Ancelotti). Be nice to see some more of our padawans come through, too. A proper playmaker in the middle with an eye for a pass would be ideal.
Otherwise, we lost last night due to shocking game management and basically switching off at the end rather than being crap. The subs were needed because Kean and Bernard can't last a full 90, but Delph booting it back to the barcodes when some composure was all that was required arguably did the most damage.
