Moshiri claimed to have personally scouted Tosun.
But the big problem is that he was fixed on Koeman, fixed on Walsh and left Kenwright in the mix.
Whether either was the right choice is questionable. The combination was rank.
there weren't many dissenting voices when Koeman was appointed. Allardyce was obviously not popular, however the aim of avoiding relegation was achieved with ease. Silva? May turn out to be a mistake but he can point to a strong finish to last season and things seemingly on the up after a poor start this time round. Brands was generally regarded as a good appointment for all that the jury may be out on some of his signings.
Don't think any dubious signings can really be laid at Moshiri's door - as far as I know he's hands off as regards playing staff. He's made the funds available after years of mending and making do and thus would doubtless claim that his end of the bargain has been upheld as a result. What do others think?
“While I was at Everton, I offered them Andrew Robertson and Harry Maguire deals, when they were at Hull, and it was worth £20 million for the pair,” is one of the things he does reveal. “Everton wouldn’t take them.
“I had a deal done for Jonny Evans too before he came to Leicester, but again they wouldn’t take him. Erling Haaland, the striker with Salzburg, I had him and his dad at the club with a deal done for €4 million. The club wouldn’t back me.”
Of course he doesn't mention the duds but this again seems to point out that he wasn't really in charge. He was just a glorified scout and not the decision-maker regarding footballing matters. So he wasn't really a DoF.
