We are at the High Court tomorrow morning. This is for the appeal by the British Medical Association against the NHS BSA’s decision to deny us death-in-service benefits following dear Helen’s sudden death almost five years ago.

Win or lose, it will provide some clarity for families of locum GPs who happen to die on a day on which they haven’t worked (despite making precisely the same pension contributions as salaried doctors).

Meanwhile, I have never forgotten the support we received from the special people on here. Will let you know how it goes.

Tomorrow is also my birthday.

And the day I retire as a teacher.
