made me laugh
and reminded me of 1982 (I think) Annie’s (St. Anselm’s) at Wade Deacon on a pitch frozen solid into ridges and a sadist for a ref who let the game go on. We scored early to go 6-0 up but both sides were frozen and already picking up injuries so both captains quietly agreed to start a 30 man brawl (lots of activity but I doubt a single punch landed) that soon included subs and even teachers (including two Christian Brothers) ‘separating’ us and forcing the abandonment to the general relief of all. ‘Detentions’ on Monday were served at a long-closed Birkenhead eatery showing the gratitude of the teachers! Something like this seems a suitable Typhoon response.
perhaps uniquely amongst the nations represented at the rugger "world cup" they could probably even play through hailstones without turning their backs and hiding their hands up their jersey sleeves.
