His daughter was buying her first house & he’d been telling her all about carpets.
The secret is the best underlay you can get.
The best in the market is a brand called Ariba, and the best one is their own branded range Ariba Ariba.
When she said she wanted to buy Ariba Ariba Underlay! the bloke pissed himself......
my girls are 8 next week and 10, and they're just awesome. last night, we spent an hour learning to do the cup game because my youngest wanted to sing the cup song from pitch perfect. while we did that, my eldest mucked about on the keyboard and via youtube videos taught herself the lead lines for three songs. seeing the pride the pair of them had in learning these things was just awesome.
but it's all the little things - when they need comfort and come to you, or when they want to help you with whatever you're doing... both of mine can happily handle knives and help me with the cooking, or will stick on fairy wings and grab spray bottles and the cleaning fairies will visit the house.
i love showing them new stuff (to them) - my eldest and i watched monty python for the first time this week, and she's wandering around saying 'ni' an awful lot and it's hilarious. my youngest does gymnastics, and although she's only been going a little over a year she's almost at her gold award because she works her arse off until she gets something right.
showing them favourite movies, playing video games together, getting them involved in the gardening or DIY wherever practical, taking them to see iron maiden as their first gig, taking them on holiday for the first time, trying new food, encouraging them to try new things and in the process trying them yourself, and watching them grow and learn and stretch themselves... oh, man it's like every day there's something else that's just awesome and fun and it's just great.
but the absolute best bit? feeding them false information as a wind-up in the hopes that they won't question it until later, and they'll regurgitate the lie in front of people who'll just look at them like they've grown an extra head, and i'll get a 'you complete and utter bastard!' message from them. that's what i'm *really* looking forward to except, so far, i've only managed to raise two cynical little bastards who don't trust a word daddy says because he's 'usually wrong'...
