I got pissed off with Rakuten TV starting up all the time on mine...
and reverted it back to factory conditions (to disable the Wifi) and now use an Nvidia Shield for any Smart features.
You could try checking to see if there is a firmware update for the TV, but I doubt it and you already solved the problem so not really worth it.
My Samsung has a bug whereby if you switch it to standby with an app open (Netflix, Google Play, Amazon Prime) the next time you turn it on it canít connect to the wifi network for up to a few minutes or until you do a hard reset.
I keep checking every few months for a firmware update but nothing. I once tried to log the bug with Samsung but it was just too hard.
Bought an LG smart TV about a year ago and although the picture and sound are really good it has worsened for some reason over time with the likes of Netflix and Prime what with the buffering and the like. The hub is upstairs as that is where my PC is.
Anyhow, a few reviews I read recently suggested that LG are good TV's but they don't have a good reputation as smart TV's. So, I took an Amazon Firestick from another TV we hardly ever use and put it on the one with the issues. Problem solved. I'm supposing the stuff inside the Firestick is better than the stuff inside the LG smart TV? Might be worthwhile if you experience the same problems with buffering. As a bonus we have the Xray and Alexa on the main telly.
