There were definitely some positive signs of intent on Sunday before the implosion
yes, a bit of grit, determination and belief that we can get the job done seems to be lacking. I'm hopeful that can still come once we get settled. It's more the other end of the pitch I'm concerned about. This has always been the question mark over Silva. His long term future hangs on his ability to tackle this, I would say.
I didn't see the Palace game so can't comment but Villa and Bournemouth, we controlled large parts of the game but still ended up losing both both 2 goals.Controlling games, away from away especially, is a plus but it's of no use of your lacking incisiveness and quality in the final third whilst giving away poor goals at the other end.
It's simplistic but I think we just need a bit more 'rolls sleeved up' and 'lets take it to them' mentality. We aren't a bad side but every side needs to earn the right to play.
...of our opponents which is why we sometimes pull off some good results against the "stronger" teams and struggle/lose against the "weaker" teams, and I definitely think there is something in that.
The stronger/more successful teams just have the same attitude no matter who their opponents are - just steamroller them.
