even in D2 Lancs batting has often struggled
Vilas has been exceptional. Livingstone and Bohannon are starting to show promise but the openers are not D1 level. If they can strengthen at opener and slide e.g. Davies to 3 they would be in reasonable shape. Onions, Jimmy, Bailey, Gleason Mahmood and the leggie Parkinson is an outstanding attack but given Onions and Jimmy’s age they could use another young seamer in addition to the Notts leftie Ed Wood you mentioned. Mid-table, maybe a touch better is quite likely.
There are two others coming up from Div 2 and they have smashed them this year so I think it wilk be fine.
The bowling attack might well be the best in the country if they get a season out of Onions and Jimmy gives it one more season. The lad from Notts they have signed is a handy left armer. To be honest even relegation last season the bowlers almost kept a terrible batting side up.
There has been a tough call made on HH but you suspect that that will not happen to the in crowd and Parry, Croft (found out in div 1 every season) etc will stay.
However if the batting line up do well and they are capable plus a top line overseas number 3 comes in I suspect weather allowing Lancs will challenge
