......but overall I get a good impression of Brands.
Letís see how things pan out. We are only 5 games in and a few months ago things were looking quite promising.
If it is, it's an odd one & I don't understand where you're coming from.
We tried. Really?
I'm not having that.
With Chelsea's UEFA sanctions the odds were always a long shot.
Where was the plan B?
Was it Holgate?
Is it not on record from Everton that we only placed one bid (well below stated asking price) for Zaha?
That suggests to me that despite the noise in the papers it wasn't a serious effort to sign the lad (Ravenelli anyone).
I'm alright with that but it does somewhat undermine your argument that we were sadly unable to bring in 3 (quality!!) players right up until the final days of the window.
I go back to my original point, there are problems all over the pitch in any team we put out & all three of those lads you mention were probably not going to be the solution to our problems.
Late bids again & we didn't get the three players you mention.
If they were that important to our success & the way we out out a team (& if we had the money), who was slated as the Plan B.
As usual, there was no-one else & the evidence points to exactly that.
I would like to think that after too many years of listening to crap coming out of Goodison, we shouldn't be so naive as to believe that just because a transfer story appears in a newspaper, we don't have to take it as gospel truth.
Back to my original point. Zaha- game changer..
Over a period of time, how many goals & assists has Zaha got away from Selhurst Park again?
Zaha Doucoure Zouma to our current squad - 3 players we tried to get right up until the final days of the window, and we'd likely have more points
of course, spending an extra 150mil give or take would add its own, different pressures
