I couldnít agree more. I canít stand international breaks and as much
As Everton can play so crap I least I care about the result. England? Forgotten in an instant unless a major game.
.....in Iceland games this week?
International break always seems to disrupt things and make for strange results and performances. I really wish they would do away with it somehow.
I wouldnít be at all surprised to see Gylfi dropped next game and Bernard in. Iwobi given Sigurdssonís role in the team. Iím not suggesting that would be the best plan but I can see it happening.
.....we got Digne into a lot of good positions and Iwobi looks very promising.
Weíll score goals if nothing else.
I was immensely frustrated by the absurd manner by which we conceded. My biggest issue is the set up not being conducive to taking the game to the opposition. We have a set up which can be negated fairly comfortably with a half decent game plan from the opposition at the beginning of the game and if we concede weíre too reliant on a measure individuality to scrape something. Admittedly thatís not unusual in football but we donít have sufficient craft to do this regularly. The approach away from home needs to change if we are to become more successful. Itís all a little tedious.
......however note that none of the goals conceded today relate to tactics or formation.
We still remain so fragile, particularly so immediately after conceding. We donít seem to have the spine for a challenge.
Perhaps worse still I find us dull to watch too often and we donít seem to play with any sustained impetus. Itís all so pedestrian and despite seeming to have the players who have the skill set the formation and approach is all too predictable and our plan A is very easily nullified.
Iím more than a little perplexed at Morgan Schneiderlin getting starts when he offers so little. He is the very epitome of conservative. Up until he became our manager I was under the impression that Silva likes to play pacy attacking football, often on the counter attack. Our set up does not fit this at all. Yes he has a different challenge with Everton in comparison to his other teams as the opposition give us more respect and seek to nullify our strengths but this too indicates that he needs to be more amenable to differing approaches.
Crap result today for me was compounded by the manner in which we conceded and also the fact that I thought the opposition were really very poor.
.....everybody needs to take a step back and let things pan out. Silva isnít getting fired anytime soon letís leave that kind of nonsense to the likes of Watford.
If we finish mid table heíll have a problem but thatís 33 games away. Lots can change. No doubt if we beat Sheff Utd all will be rosy again ;-) Fact is weíve played 5 and all have been decided by fine margins and could have gone either way.
