you Split the shares to split the dividends
And therefore the tax burden from those dividends , you pay both
Of you a minimal salary to avoid large NI contributions.
Why not just pay a salary to the spouse up to her tax free allowance?
Just wondering if any contractors here split the shares in their ltd company with their spouse?
I'm considering doing this, as my wife doesn't utilise her tax allowance, and my accountant says it should be no problem. Just wondering if anyone else does this?
I hear mixed things about doing this when reading online.
